SHAMI CHAKRABARTI AND LIBERTY

I know some of you will disagree with me and start the name calling but I have just listened to the biggest load of tripe dribbling from the oral orifice of Shami Chakrabarti, the director of Liberty. The argument was about the torture of terrorists held by the Americans and the disclosure of sensitive information.
My opinion on all of this is simple; if the torture of ten known terrorists saves the life of one British soldier then it was worth it, no if’s or buts. Our soldiers are not fighting in a conventional war, their enemy is not wearing a uniform and will use any method it can to kill them and us. To terrorists you and I are legitimate targets, it is not only soldiers that get captured and have their heads hacked from their bodies, civilians have also been filmed in this grotesque manner, where was Ms Chakrabarti when that was happening?
Does Liberty and the likes of Ms Chakrabarti, who incidentally I think is a naïve, odious woman, spare any thought for the prisoners of these terrorists?, do they not share the dread we feel when a person is captured by these animals?. Liberty are the first to come out shouting when an illegal immigrant or an Asylum seeker is held in custody, but do they care about the rights of you and I to be free of terrorism, do they hell, they are the epitome of your left-wing, politically correct, do-gooders who have more brains than sense.
Chakrabarti wants even more rights given to Asylum seekers, regardless that some of them are fleeing terrorists and may want to kill us, she is also against any security measure that protects us from the enemies that want to kill and maim us, a few years ago she would have been called what she undisputedly is…a traitorous bitch.
If Liberty and the traitorous bitch are so pedantic about Human Rights what about ours?. Do we and our soldiers have to forego our rights so that our enemies can commit the atrocities they do with impunity?.
It’s time this Country woke up to the likes of Ms Chakrabarti and her mamby-pampy dealings of our enemies, her sympathetic dealing of these cowards is what gets us and our soldiers killed.

Hi John,

Just a couple of comments about this posting:

1.
I cannot agree that the torture of prisoners is justified in the current situation. However there are drugs which remove a person's will to lie when asked a direct question (loosely known as truth drugs). Obviously administrating these drugs would be far more desirable than submitting a prisoner to mistreatment, and the answers obtained, are of course, far more reliable.

2.
As far as I'm aware no one is being held in detention centres in the UK against their will, simply because at any time they can return to their own country, therefore they remain in these centres from choice.

Chris,
I don’t care if it’s truth drugs or medieval torture so long as it saves British lives. If these animals fought fair and within conventional rules of engagement I would agree with you but they don’t!.
My point is that Liberty and Chakrabarti whinge and whine about the human rights of these despots when they have behaved in the most inhuman of ways. These animals gave up any human rights they may have had when they started cutting off the heads of innocent civilians, like Keith Begley.
I’m sorry Chris but Northern Ireland proved if you’re in a dirty war you too have to fight dirty, it wasn’t until Maggie Thatcher pronounced “The gloves are off” that we came within months of beating the IRA. Conventional Tactics do not work when you are fighting unconventional warfare.
Liberty and their calls to help these specimens of inhumanity is not only outrageous it’s tantamount to treason, how they are given access to a public platform is altogether worrying, the acidic Chakrabarti should be in a prison cell, not a TV studio.

Sorry John,

I simply can't agree with torture. Its wrong morally, and the information it produces is, to say the least, untrustworthy. The motivation of torture victims is to stop the pain, and to that end they tell their inquisitors what they want to hear not necessarily the truth.

Another point is the way the Americans are obtaining these prisoners. The US pay for Islamic terrorists who are handed into the American military in Afghanistan, but apparently (at least according to some reports) this is being used as a source of funding by the terrorists themselves. The terrorists (who as we know control much of the rural areas of the country) simply pull some poor innocent peasant farmer of his piece of land, tell him go along with this or: 'we'll you’re your family', then take him into the Americans and claim their $10,000 reward. That cash is then used to buy arms. Now I know that we can't rely on reports from journalists 100%, but it would seem at least a possibility that this could be happening, and if it is then at least some of the detainees are innocent.

As for this Chakrabarti creature I simply don't want to comment, I'll say only that I agree with you that she seems to cares nothing about our rights, and I'll leave it at that. Any thing else I say might get me in trouble with paramilitary arm of the Labour party (ie the police).

Chris,
I can see you and I will have to differ on the treatment of terrorists but, at least we can agree on the venomous Chakarbarti bitch!.

Hi John,

Agreeing to disagree is fine, but I think my main problem is your assertion that these people are all terrorists.

I still believe that everyone should be considered innocent until proven to be guilty after a fair trial. Now I'm not that stupid to think that everyone in American detention camps are innocent, many I'm sure are terrorists or have links to terrorism. But a great many (possibly even a majority) aren't, and that's the problem.

Anyway I've had my 2d worth, and I thank you for allowing me to express my concerns on your blog. And please don't think I'm some wet liberal, I'm not. I just believe that if justice is to apply to me it must apply to all.

Dear John,

The problem I have is with the term: 'known terrorist' or for that matter 'known criminal' or 'known trouble maker' or 'known political activist' or 'known dissenter' etc etc. I say: 'known to whom?'.

I have been arrested by the police twice in my life, both times while participating in totally legal political activities. So to the police (at least the Brownie pointer at the top) I am a known trouble maker. I speak out against our political masters at election times. I knock on doors and ask citizens not to vote for the big three parties but for the BNP. I question the right of our government to sell our nation down the river. To put it frankly: I like to think I am a complete pain in the neck of our political masters.

Yes I am known to the following as a trouble maker:

1. The police (but not the honest bobby on the beat).
2. The Labour party.
3. The Tories.
4. UAF.
5. Etc.

I have only one defence, I am not known as a trouble maker to twelve good men & women true.

I am not interested in 'known' I want proof that an honest jury will accept, until that time I assume everyone is innocent.

THE TRIBAL VOTE AGAINST THE BNP.

Register to vote or this racist BNP man Nick Griffin gets elected
Written by www.daily.pk

Pakistan Daily is urging YOU the Asian commmunity to get into the polling booths at this summer’s European Elections.

As reported in our most recent edition the far-right British National Party could win its first seat in the European Parliament by claiming just 8% of the vote! And Nick Griffin the leader of the party is standing as a candidate in the North West.

He has already started campaigning for votes in the local towns. He is pictured here at the Manxman Pub in Blackburn during a meeting. The meeting was attended by local BNP canvassers including Robin Evans who gave a short speech on the night.

If you want to do something about it and stop the BNP then in the first instance you have to register with your local council to vote. The European elections take place on Thursday June 4.

The proportional representation voting system used for Euro-elections increases the BNP's chances of winning a seat.

The Asian community has long been vocal in protesting over international issues but it is time we focussed our energies democratically to ensure those who aim to divide and spread hateful messages are not given a mandate to further their cause.

Fundamentally the Asian community needs to become more active in local politics.

There have already been warnings against complacency. Harriet Harman MP said, “In the North West, where Nick Griffin, the BNP chairman, is standing, Searchlight estimates they only need about 8% of the vote to break through into the European Parliament.

“The BNP threat cannot be ignored. A new Labour analysis of council elections shows that even where they are not winning they are coming second in areas which are Labour, Liberal Democrat and Tory-held. Their poison is spreading.”

Councillor Taalib Shamsuddin was one of the first local councillors to warn of the threat. “The only way to stop Nick Griffin is a massive voter turn out on Thursday 4 June and people voting for one of the top three parties.

“The deadline for voter registration is 19 May and I urge everybody to make sure there friends and family are registered to vote."
